If you prefer Fit, you can use it as well. You'll be able to track the usual health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen level, and sleep activity, plus you'll also be able to access your Daily Readiness score, a feature that suggests what kind of exercise your body requires.
If you want to access a more comprehensive set of fitness features, you'll need to pay for a premium membership, which unlocks fitness and health data analysis, lifestyle guidance, access to over 1,000 workouts, and over 400 mindfulness sessions. The service costs $10 a month, but you can get a six-month membership with every purchase of thePixel watch.
The heart rate sensor is one of the health- tracking features that is overshadowed by it. The Pixel Watch's sensor is said to be very accurate thanks to the work done by the two companies that powered it. The heart-rate tracking process uses the chip's coprocessor which sips less battery than the primary processor. The sensor is much more efficient and can deliver results without eating up battery life. I don't know if the sensor's performance matches the claims because I haven't tested the watch.
It's not like Apple's new Emergency SOS that will automatically detect if you've been in a crash, though you will have to enable it manually. There's a crash detection feature in thePixel phones. When fall detection arrives later this year, it will auto-dial emergency responders if you're not breathing. It's odd that this feature isn't available at launch since this has been in the works for a long time.
The world clock is on.
You will be disappointed to hear that the Pixel Watch is only available in nine countries: the US, Canada, Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan. These are places where the success of the Pixel phones has made them a good bet for the watch. It will go on sale on October 13th. Three months of YouTube Music Premium is included with every purchase, as well as six months of the fitness tracker.
The Pixel Watch feels like it's catching up with the rest of the industry and there's no one feature that makes it stand out above the rest. It looks pretty, and that may be why you need to slap it on.
