Google celebrates the Lesbian Velma reveal with an extremely gay Easter egg

Velma Dinkley, Mystery Inc.'s resident bookworm and turtleneck enthusiast, is into girls. That is worth celebrating.

There is a new Halloween kids' movie that was released on Tuesday. Velma is instantly crushing in the clip, she is voiced by Kate Micucci. Power of speech was defeated and glasses were fogged up.

Fans were overjoyed, and musician and actor Hayley Kiyoko noted that there had already been a lesbian Velma. It's sort of.

They put a twist on their Easter egg with a pride month twist. There are lesbian Pride flags and Progress flags on the results page of the search engine.

In the past, the company has been accused of failing to mitigate homophobia and harassment on YouTube, but the company still celebrates Pride and the history of the gay community in its Easter eggs.

The young Velma, who is of South Asian descent, will be the voice of the new Velma in the new animated series. The series will be shown at New York Comic-Con this week. Kaling should have been aware of Ms. Dinkley's big news.
