Benfica celebrate scoring against PSG
Benfica remain unbeaten and well on course for the round of 16

The Lionel Messi goal was cancelled out as Paris St-Germain and Benfica maintained their perfect records in the European competition.

Messi opened the scoring with a curling shot after a great interplay with the other two players.

The draw was earned when the Benfica player turned a cross into his own net.

Both teams have seven points from three games in the group.

Both Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain deserved a spot in the round of 16 as they played out entertaining encounters where only strong performances by the goalkeepers prevented the score from being larger.

The opener was by Messi. A superb team move in from the right side, Messi picked the ball up and combined superbly with his teammates, before curling into the back of the net.

This was the 40th different opponent the Argentine has scored against in the European competition, and it was a strike to sit alongside any of Messi's finest.

An own goal was scored after a floated cross from the left wing by Fernandez was put into the net by Danilo.

The second half saw Paris Saint-Germain apply a lot of pressure, and they hit the bar on 50 minutes when the Brazilian tried to kick the ball.

Nicolas Otamendi missed a chance when he headed wide from six yards.

Both teams had to settle for a point before they meet again.
