The launch of another crew of astronauts to the International Space Station today gave the crews back on the ground a chance to inject some much-needed humor in the form of a "Mean Girls" reference.

"While October 3 may belong to the Mean Girls, October 5 will forever belong to Crew 5," the ground control told the crew after stage separation.

He said "godspeed, endurance"

The fourth wall was broken a little by the joke, a reminder of the human beings who make it possible to launch astronauts into space.

The Limit Does Not Exist

onlookers were surprised by the moment Did they just refer to Mean Girls? Chris Bergin was incredulous during the event.

It's a reference to a scene in the movie in which Jonathan Bennett's character asks Lindsay Lohan's character what day it is, and it's become a meme.

It's exactly what we've come to expect from Musk's portfolio.

The joke is harmless and we're here for it.

There are more on the launch, despite the nuclear war threats.
