I am too young to order a Happy Meal at Mcdonald's.
I was interested when I learned that the fast food giant was offering a Happy Meal with an adult content.
I go back to the happy meal. My 5th birthday party was held at the now-demolished McDonald's PlayPlace on West 92nd street, and I used my status as the birthday boy to get all the toys from the 1999 movie "Inspector Gadget". If there's a target audience for a grown up version of the combo, I'm it.
McDonald's marketing materials state that the new meal is designed to bring back one of the most nostalgic Mcdonald's experiences. It comes with a collectible toy, fries, soda, and a Big Mac.
I thought I had been ripped off after trying it.
The Cactus Plant Flea Market box costs $12.89 before tax at my closest Mcdonald's location. The Big Mac meal contains the same amount of food as the smaller one.
The plastic toy and cardboard box the order comes in are the only differences justifying the up charge.
Is the toy worth it's high price? I think opening the plastic bag with my toy was the most nostalgic part of the experience.
The only differences justifying the $2.60 upcharge from the regular Big Mac meal are the plastic toy and the cardboard box the order comes in.
