Musk has many pies. He is the CEO of both of the companies that he is the CEO of. He co-founded Neuralink and founded the Boring Company. It looks like Musk will lead the effort to take the social network private and possibly roll it into an "everything app" he calls X.

It is if that sounds a lot. Observers have wondered if Musk should step down from his leadership positions because of his time constraints. They may be correct. The signs of founder's syndrome are seen by other observers. It could also be that way.

There is another way to say that the question is still being asked. Is it a well-established business that needs to focus on electric vehicles? Do you think Musk should stay or go?

At some point in a company's life, should they invest resources in exploring new niches or work on exploiting existing ones?

The ambidextrous organization is a way for companies to continue to profit from an existing business while looking for new markets. It is difficult to pull off and every leader has tendencies that pull them in one direction or another. It's important for founders to have diverse, empowering lieutenants and boards so they can draw on a variety of views and competencies.
