According to a countersuit she filed in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, Brad Pitt hit one of his children across the face during an altercation with his estranged wife on a plane.

Pitt is in a court battle with his former partner over a winery they purchased. According to the filing, Pitt forced her to sign a non-disparagement clause as a condition of the sale of her share of the winery because he was angry with her.

The September 2016 plane altercation, in which a drunken Pitt allegedly became physical with their then-15-year-old son, Maddox, during a fight, is largely regarded to be the incident that led to her abrupt filing for divorce. The day that the marriage came to an end is referred to in the filing as the day.

The filing states that Pitt was physically and emotionally abusive to the children, who were between the ages of 8 and 15 at the time.

Pitt's team told People that he did not hit his child in the face and that it did not reach the level of physical abuse.

Pitt had a confrontation with one of their children before the private jet took off. Pitt accused his wife of being too deferential to their children after the plane left. He pushed her into the wall after grabbing her by the head and yelling at her.

He yelled "No, mommy's not ok" as one of their children asked, "Are you OK, mom?" as he punched the ceiling of the plane.

Pitt lunged at his own child and grabbed him from behind to stop him when one of the children defended him. Children rushed in to protect each other. Pitt hit one of the children in the face before it was over. Children begged Pitt to stop.

Some of the children were upset. According to the document, the children were scared to go to the bathroom.

Her lawyers say in the filing that he poured beer and wine on her and her children. He went to sleep later.

The kids were told not to intervene even if Pitt did something. She woke him up and told him that they were going to a hotel without him, and he screamed and pushed her down, preventing his family from leaving the plane for 20 minutes.

Pitt abused one of their children once outside the plane door. One of the children begged "Don't hurt her" as he grabbed and shook her. He said "Fuck you, fuck you all" before calling her a "bitch".

On September 19, 2016 they requested sole custody of their children. Pitt wanted joint custody.

Pitt told the New York Times that he spent a year and a half in an alcoholics' group after the divorce of his wife.

Pitt did not reply immediately.
