After the billionaire offered to buy the social-media platform again on Tuesday, a former executive of the company said that he was an attention-seeker.
Bruce Daisley, who was the vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa until he left in 2020, told Insider that the same was true of Donald Trump.
Musk said that the decision to ban Trump was morally wrong and stupid.
Daisley said he would bet that reversing Trump's ban would create a lot of attention for the former president and Musk.
Daisley said that Musk is likely to try to increase the value of his investment He's like a man with a bad night's sleep looking at the mess that he woke up to.
After months of trying to walk away from the deal, Musk on Tuesday offered to buy the company again at its original price. The company received a letter from Musk's lawyers that offered to acquire the platform, according to a person at the company.
He didn't want it and was going to trash the platform and the executives who ran it. Daisley said that he was going to turn it into a Super App.
Daisley said Musk makes "spontaneous and often unpredictable decisions" in an interview with the radio station.
In July, Musk said he was ending the deal to buy the micro-blogging site. The CEO of the two companies said he was backing out because he was concerned about the number of bots on the platform. Musk was sued for failing to honor his commitments.
In October, a five-day trial was scheduled to begin in Delaware court for Musk and his company, and he was expected to be deposed later this week.
Insider was told by experts that Musk was trying to avoid a court loss by acquiring the platform again.
