A flight attendant for Republic Airways was arrested at Reagan National Airport on Monday for taking a passenger's bracelet from a security checkpoint.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said Rebecca Valley worked for the regional carrier and was charged with one count of grand theft. The value of the jewelry was reported by the owner.

The D.C.-area airports authority did not respond to a request for the arrest report on Monday.

The victim, who has not been identified, told security workers that her jewelry was missing after she passed through the checkpoint.

A second traveler in a flight attendant's uniform was seen picking up jewelry at the checkpoint, according to Farbstein. The person was found in the airport terminal.

A request for comment from Republic Airways was not responded to. There are flights for American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express.
