The exchange began to pick up media coverage once the top Ukrainian government official began talking to Musk. State-run media in Russia. The Kremlin appreciated Musk's ideas more than the Ukranian government did. According to an article from RIA News, which was first reported on by Business Insider, Vladimir Putin's press secretary said that his ideas deserved attention.

Insider said that Musk's argument seems to parrot Kremlin talking points. Peskov disagreed with Musk's suggestion of a UN-monitored election.
