The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team in the league that hasn't lost a game.

The question of whether a team can produce a perfect season is always asked when the league is down to a single team. It hasn't happened since 1972 when the Miami Dolphins lost in the Superbowl.

The Eagles will lose at some point. Philadelphia has yet to be challenged by a perceived elite team despite the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Indianapolis Colts last week.

Even if the tradition of popping champagne before the playoffs isn't actually a tradition at all, the '72 Dolphins seem destined to do it.

There are reasons to think the Eagles have a chance. The offense is as dynamic as any in the league.

Since taking over as the full-time starter last season, Hurts has evolved from a raw dual-threat quarterback into a complete field general.

Hurts has only 123 pass attempts, but he is throwing for an average of 280 yards per game and 9.1 yards per attempt.

Hurts can attack any part of the field with his arm. A quarterback who can finish power runs is hard to find on a lot of rosters.

The Eagles have someone special in Hurts, and they have a great scheme in place to help him. The offensive line that Hurts plays behind is one of the best in the league.

Michael Renner wrote in June that there may not be a single below average starter along the Eagles offensive line. There is no debate about which team's offensive line is the best in the league.

The Philly offense has a lot of players in it. The Eagles score fourth in the country and are second in total offense.

Hurts has become a leader and given the Eagles a resilience. There wasn't a sense of panic despite Philadelphia falling behind 14-0 to Jacksonville.

Jalen Hurts on 14-0 deficit: “Nothing needed to be said. There was no come-to-Jesus moment. ....There was, ‘Hey, we built ourselves for this. We want to have that type of mentality so let’s find out what type of team we are.’"

Being able to accumulate points is something else. It's one thing to understand that an ability will keep a game competitive.

The Eagles don't depend on their offense alone. They have a stellar defensive front led by Cox and a star corner in Slay.

The Eagles have 3.5 sacks with the addition of James Bradberry, C.J.Gardner- Johnson and Haason Reddick. The unit is ninth in points allowed.

It was a big part of Philadelphia's comeback against Jacksonville.

The Eagles can take over games on either side of the ball. One unit can go through a rough stretch and the other can carry the load.

Ross Tucker of CBS Sports and Westwood One said on The Dan Patrick Show on Monday that he didn't think there was a better team in the NFL.

Philadelphia does not have a weakness and it has avoided injuries. Coming out of the game, there was some concern that Mailata, Seumalo, Slay, and Jake were going to get injured.

It sounded as if no one would miss time.

He said that everyone has a chance to play this weekend. I don't want to make a statement just in case something happens. We think everyone has a chance to play this weekend.

Philadelphia has an easy schedule. Only the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys have an easier road in the new year.

This doesn't mean that all games will be easy.

There aren't many games that look tough on paper. Even though backup quarterback Cooper Rush has been behind center for the last three weeks the Cowboys are still 3-1. The Eagles will host Rodgers and the Packers in Week 12.

Tough competition could come from the New York Giants and the TennesseeTitans.

Philadelphia could be favored in every remaining game despite the fact that the Eagles have played better.

The Eagles are one of the favorites to win the Superbowl. Philadelphia is the odds-on favorite to win it all. The Buffalo Bills have the shortest odds.

The big question is whether the Eagles can make it through any trap games and continue to build on their recent good fortune. Philadelphia is not going to be taken lightly by opponents. The Eagles will need everything to fall into place for them to have an perfect season.

That's not likely. The Dolphins have done it in 49 seasons. It's difficult to win. It is difficult to win every game.

It's borderline but not completely. Another team will not lose a game. The Eagles have the talent, the leadership and the schedule to have a realistic chance.

Is Philadelphia going to go without a loss? The only team that has a chance is probably not. The Eagles have dreams of having their own champagne celebration at the end of the season.
