Tyler Siskey doesn't believe that Alabama coach Nick Saban is hypocritical when he says something is bad for college football and then does something about it. Siskey knew his former boss to be a pragmatic man when he worked for him in the player personnel department.

Siskey heard genuine concern for the state of the sport when the red flag was raised about the transfer portal. It is a myth that Parity is a myth in the modern NCAA. The portal endangers the idea of competitive balance because it allows programs to lure players from struggling teams.

Is that going to make the wealthy richer? Reporters were asked a question at a news conference. "I'm not sure."

To Siskey and those connected to Alabama over the past decade, the question was a warning.

He's telling you that this isn't a good thing. He's going to obey the rules.

Siskey said that Saban is able to turn rules into advantages.

Siskey said that he did not like spread offenses. You can see what they did.

"Is this what we want football to be?" was the question that Saban asked when he looked at the spread offense. At the time, he was ridiculed. He told Lane Kiffin to put his foot in it after he was hired as the offensive coach. The Alabama offense is one of the most dynamic in college football.

He's going to play it if that's how it's going to be.

He is likely to play it better than anyone else. While he doesn't like what the portal is doing to college football, he was able to use it like an NFL free agency without a salary cap. Don't take undiscovered talent or draft from the lower levels. He wanted to go higher.

When Evan Neal, Brian Robinson Jr., Josh Jobe, John Metchie, and Jameson Williams left Alabama, they were replaced by proven Power 5 players. The team signed an offensive tackle, a running back, a defensive back, and a wide receiver.

Siskey is laughing at the absurdity. He racked up 206 yards and two touchdown against Arkansas last Saturday, and is now in the running for the prestigious award.

"Saban is the best at what he does for a reason." Siskey made a statement.

A college head coach in the Southeast points to his cell phone at his desk. He says he gets calls on behalf of college players from all over the country. He says that So and So isn't happy there.

The transfer window for non-graduates is closed during the first month of the college football season, but players are already shopping outside the portal for potential destinations. There are underground connections that lead to players' next schools, according to the coach. He says how tangled up that is.

It's time to take Alabama. He attended the same high school as Jordan Battle and Dallas Turner. The quarterback from California was Burton's friend. Young and Ricks were students at a high school.

He was recruited by Alabama out of a Georgia high school. He was offered a scholarship by the North Carolina running backs coach.

The staff at Georgia Tech was deflated when they learned that the team's most talented player would be leaving. They didn't know he was entering the portal to make money. The source said the child just wanted to win.

The transfer landscape is out of control with personnel departments keeping lists of potential transfer targets with geographical or personal connections to the team, according to a source.

When the NCAA allowed players to transfer once with immediate eligibility and the portal exploded with activity, coaches were worried about what's known in basketball as transferring up: players moving from the Group of 5 to the Power 5. Alabama is showing movement can happen at the highest level.

The College Football Playoff chase will be affected by Saturday's games. The odds for the top four. The answers can be found in the playoff Predictor. The odds are updated after each game.

Jordan entered the portal in May after winning the award at Pitt. While he was in transfer limbo, he and Young worked out together. Sources said that Alabama tried to lure him to Tuscaloosa, but he wanted to join Lincoln Riley at USC.

Pat Narduzzi wasn't a fan of how Riley handled the case. The transfer process was questioned by many people. After he left for Alabama, Louisville coach Scott Satterfield suggested to a website that he had been altered.

The game has changed according to an assistant. He said the goal of the post game handshake was to start recruiting the other team.

There is paranoia and quick commitments after a player enters the portal.

The national championship game was played on January 10. Burton entered the portal. He decided to join Alabama four days later.

He addressed his use of the portal. According to him, Burton had some production at Georgia.

He shrugged after pausing.

Burton had five touchdown catches.

He might have seen a better chance if we threw the ball more with a good quarterback. That might have been his intent.

When Burton spoke to reporters this summer he said he had moved on from Georgia and the title.

I didn't remember about that game. I would like to win with this team.

Drinkwitz tried to look into the future last year.

"We're about two steps into a mile race, and I don't think anyone knows the pace, and I don't think anyone knows what the rules will be when this ends," he said.

No one knows what the best thing to do is.

The NCAA created windows of transfer activity in August in order to make it seem like there's no pressure on the other side. There is.

Strategies vary from school to school. Georgia did not take a transfer this year. More than a dozen were taken by Ole Miss.

Siskey was on staffs at Ole Miss and Arkansas State. The Tide have finished in the top three of the class rankings every year since 2008 and they don't have to stretch for a guy in the portal. The portal can be used by schools to fill gaps when players leave early for the draft.

Siskey said that money and the ability to win a championship are two motivators when it comes to players signing their next contracts.

There is no need to sacrifice one for the other at Alabama.

In the last five years, the Tide have won six national titles. None of the other teams has won more than two games.

NIL is not a problem for us. He said players earned more than $3 million last season.

Future earnings are one of the metrics Siskey pointed to. Alabama players have earned over $1 billion in the National Football League according to the coach.

When he decided to transfer after last season, he was looking for a new challenge.

A new locker room and a new culture at Alabama isn't easy to adjust to, but it appears to have been a success. At left tackle, he has started every game.

He said that he embraced the different expectations at his new home and how many people pushed him to reach his full potential.

For sure, it's different over here.
