The post is updated with new information on a regular basis.
I am just as happy in a small cabin on a cruise ship as I am in a big cabin. All I need from a cruise ship cabin is a place to lay my head at night and enough storage for what I can fit in a 21-inch bag.
Even a minimalist can be impressed by the over-the-top maximalism that has taken hold in the Great Cruiseship Suite Wars.

The arrival of a new generation of super-large, super-swany suites on ships has been one of the biggest stories in the cruise world. They are amazing to look at.
The suites that measure 2000 square feet or more are close to the size of a typical American home. A few go much further.
I didn't stay in all of the new suites. I have toured all of the cruise ships that I have written about. There are no major cruise ship suites that I have missed.
There are a few that have stood out.
One-of-a-kind suites can be found on only one vessel. They're suites that have sisters on multiple ships.

This isn't an exact list. Disney fans will be upset that I didn't include the Roy O. Disney Suite on Disney Fantasy. The suites are impressive. I have to get rid of my list.
You should definitely avoid cabins on cruise ships.
The owner's suites on the ocean ships that Viking has been rolling out since 2015 are missing from my list. The suites are used by the founder and owner of the vikings when he sails on the ships and incorporate some of his personal items. They are the best in the area.
Some of the biggest suites at sea can be found on the Norwegian Cruise Line vessels.
The five most spectacular suites are listed below.
The ship is called Seven Seas Splendor.
I think of the scene in "Dr. Zhivago" where Comrade Kapuchina dresses down the good doctor on the size of his mansion. There were 13 families in this house, she says.
In a pinch, you might be able to get 13 families into the Regent Suite. It's almost double the size of the average American home. It is like nothing you will find anywhere else at sea.
The Regent Suite is so large that it stretches from one side of the ship to the other and offers three different views. It has two huge bedroom complexes that are seemingly endless in space. It has a living room, separate dining area, and the most spectacular balcony at sea.
You should spend a lot of money on a suite for your next cruise.
Regent executives claim that the bed in the Regent Suite costs more than $200,000. It was made by four artisans at the renowned Hstens workshop in Kping, Sweden.
There is a sauna and steam room in the Regent Suite. It can be used as a personal spa treatment room. The Regent Suite has a spa on call. The price of the suite includes unlimited spa treatments.
First-class domestic flights to reach the ship are one of the perks of staying in the Regent Suite.
There's only one downside to staying. The price. The Regent charges a lot of money for the privilege.
The ship is owned by Royal Caribbean.
The Regent Suite is larger than the Royal Loft Suite on Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas. The latter doesn't offer a view of the ship's wake through a glass wall.
It is rare in the cruise world for a main room to be more than two stories high.
There are some design differences between the Oasis-class and Quantum-class ships.
The first vessel in Royal Caribbean's Quantum-class series is my favorite of the Royal loft suites. Sleeping up to six, it offers a stylish, two-deck-high living and dining room space facing the complex's giant window wall, complete with an Eames Lounge Chair. There is a sofa that can convert into a double bed.
There are reasons to turn down a cabin upgrade.
There is a queen bed in the media room on the first floor of the Royal Loft Suite. Should you be traveling with a family, this is a great place to stay.
You can see the living area to the sea from the main bedroom on the upstairs level. I love the way it is accessed. It is similar to crossing a drawbridge into your own castle.
One of the best places to look out over the water is the private balcony that has its own whirlpool.
The Queen Mary 2 is a ship on thenard line.
The double-decker route was used by other cruise lines when designing over-the-top suites. The grand duplex suite on the Queen Mary 2 was unveiled a decade before the debut of Quantum of the Seas.
The Balmoral Suite has 2,249 square feet of living space and is named after a Scottish castle.
The Balmoral Suite and the Sandringham Suite both have a large living room and dining area on the ground floor, as well as a spacious master bedroom on the second level.
A massive complex measuring more than 9,000 square feet can be created if you combine one of the suites with four adjacent suites.
The grand duplex suites have staircases that lead to the master bedrooms.
The Queens Grill restaurant at Queen Mary 2 is one of the reasons why the Grand Duplex suites are attractive. The main Britannia restaurant is open to most passengers, but this is only open to passengers in the top accommodations.
The restaurant was featured in the movie "Let Them All Talk" which was set on Queen Mary 2.
The Celebrity Reflection is on a cruise ship.
The suites on many Celebrity Cruises ships are large and attractive. The Reflection Suite is my favorite of Celebrity Reflection's five classes.
The brand's first two-bedroom suite, the Reflection Suite, measures 1,636 square feet and has a balcony.
If you want to hold a dinner party on your cruise, it has a dining table that can seat 10 people and is located in a panoramic corner on the ship.
The ultimate guide to choosing a cruise line.
The master bathroom in the Reflection Suite will knock your socks off. A bathroom with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer amazing sea views is called a "sea-view bathroom." There is a rain shower over the edge of the ship.
If you use it, be careful. It is possible that you will put on a show. It's possible to change the walls from transparent to translucent. We can't think of a bathroom on a cruise ship that is as cool.
The Riviera is a ship on the Oceania Cruises.
When it comes to elegance and style, there is nothing like the Owner's Suites on Riviera.
Three more Owner's Suites can be found on Riviera's sister ship, Marina.
The six suites were decorated with furnishings by Susan Bednar Long and they have a great flow and consistency in style.
The Bel Air beds in the master bedrooms are covered in Austyn Cashmere and have a striking blue fabric upholstery. There is a marble-clad master bathroom a few steps away.
There is a bar on one side of the entryway and a grand piano on the other side of the owner's suite.
Hot tub and flat-screen TVs can be found on the wrap-around balconies. The back of the ship can be seen from these balconies.
The suites come with butler service, free laundry service of up to three bags per sailing, priority ship embarkation with priority luggage delivery and access to an exclusive executive lounge staffed by a dedicated concierge.
