Over the past few weeks, more than 2,000 Russian soldiers have contacted the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine asking for an opportunity to surrender.
Andrii Yusov is a representative of Ukrainian military intelligence.
Yusov said there had been a surge of requests after the successful counteroffensive by the armed forces of Ukranian.
"Then we started getting calls from soldiers who were on the territory of Ukraine as part of the occupation army, but also those who had just been mobilised and were still on the territory of the Russian Federation, or their relatives."
More than 2,000 requests have been received in a few weeks.
The I Want to Live project is intended to help military personnel of the Russian army surrender to the Ukrainian army.
