It was one of the ways in which their bodies were identified by their parents after the Malang stadium tragedy.

At least 125 people, many of them teenagers like Mohammad, were killed in a stadium crush when police fired tear gas at spectators.

Fans of Arema FC invaded the pitch after the final whistle, and officers responded in this way.

People were blinded and gasping for air when the volleys were sprayed at them. Many fans died when they fled to the exits.

Alif wondered if his only son was still alive after he walked through the hospital corridors. The man told his wife to be strong.

I stood back when I saw my son's corpse. I wasn't interested in seeing him. He said it was too much to be true.

I am very sad. I have to allow it to go.

The community is devastated by the loss of life. There were many football fans who died. A toddler was among the 32 children who died.

People are asking questions of the match organizers. The stadium was over capacity. The minister said 42,000 tickets were sold for the stadium.

The police's use of tear gas has caused more public anger than anything else.

Crowd control gas should not be used at football matches, a guideline that is often ignored in Indonesia.

The crowd could have been avoided, according to several witnesses.

The police did not use the tear gas on the pitch. They put it in the stands.

Many of the gates were locked, and there were a lot of women and children. Aris Usmatul is a 22-year-old survivor. She was horrified to see bodies on the street and people collapsing around her when she got out of the gate.

Security experts as well as Indonesian and international human rights groups emphasize this point.

The violence displayed by police and the military was highlighted by a policing expert. Several police units and soldiers were present at the time.

Police forces brutally kicking people and hitting people as they ran around the pitch. Dr Baker said that this behavior was unacceptable.

The local chief in Malang has been fired. Dozens of other officers were under investigation.

The use of tear gas was being looked into by officials. Police had previously said they used tear gas to control the crowd.

In Indonesia, where violent rivalries are common, football violence has been a problem for many years. Fans from the opposing side of Arema FC were banned from visiting by the organizers of Saturday's tragedy.

Each of the victims' families will receive 50 million rupiahs in compensation. The president promised to root out the culprits and punish them.

The investigation should be done in a couple of weeks.
