The head football coach at the University of Wisconsin took a reduced buyout when he was fired.

The school said he accepted a reduced amount of money.

He had about 20 million dollars left on his deal. The University of Wisconsin Foundation will pay for the buyouts, and they must be paid by February 1.

The standards that he helped put in place didn't go as planned.

In his first season as the head coach, he went 67-26 and made three Big Ten Championship Game appearances. The Big Ten West has largely been the class of the conference under his leadership.

They had a chance to go to the College Football Playoff but lost to the Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game.

It was once again expected that Wisconsin would reach the Big Ten title game with star running back Braelon Allen leading the way.

After a 24 point loss to the Fighting Illini and a 17-14 loss to Washington State, Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst lost his job.
