In order to meet travel demand and strengthen its trans-border partnership with United Airlines, Air Canada will be adding new daily direct flights from both coasts to the US.

There will be year-round flights between Newark, N.J., and Houston, as well as between Newark, N.J., and Montreal.

Mark Galardo said in a statement that the routes will give customers in Atlantic and Western Canada more convenient options for flying to the U.S.

The flights will give Western Canada customers more options for reaching destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as reinforce links between Atlantic Canada and New York.

Many new one-stop connections will be made from the U.S. to Air Canada.

With the new routes, the U.S. network will be six per cent above its pre-pandemic capacity. The airports it serves are in the U.S.

  1. Flair Airlines Ltd. said its expanded service would focus on key domestic routes.

Major Canadian airlines have recently announced new routes as the travel industry recovers from the effects of the Pandemic.

The airline plans to increase its fleet to 27 aircraft by next summer in order to increase capacity by 50 per cent.

The group said in June that it will add new routes and centre its existing wide-body fleet around Western Canada.
