Last week's launch of Priceline Experiences, powered by ticketing platform Musement, marks the first significant venture into offering bookable activities by the online travel agency. Priceline had a small-scale offering of activities in the past, but Priceline Experiences is a much bigger initiative according to theOTA.

Consumer demand and the need to book experiences in advance were the main drivers of the launch of Priceline Experiences.
Staffing shortages and other challenges are what the activities space is dealing with. They have to plan, so it's important to book in advance.
Smaller operators need to plan to have staff available to guide guests, while larger operators might sell out quicker, making it harder for consumers to book.
She missed out on the Blue Lagoon because she didn't book tickets in advance.
She said that it was an exciting time to be launching the products.
Glenn Fogel has talked about his desire to offer travelers more connected trips. He wants customers to be able to book and change their entire trip in a single place.
Priceline Experiences helps theOTA become more "full service" for its customers who want access to bookable activities and experiences.
She said that they wanted to help you plan your entire trip.
"We know that our customers over-index in planning activities during their trip, so we felt this was a great way to help our customers not only plan for the air, car, hotel, but then plan what are you going to do on your trip." Priceline is not the only one that has increased its offerings in recent years.
The tours, activities and attractions segment was dubbed the next big source of growth in the travel industry in 2018, according to the U.S. online travel agency market report. Booking and Expedia were vying to position themselves as leaders in the category.
They started working with partners like Musement and GetYourGuide after changing their tactics.
