In Pittsburgh, the Kenny Pickett era has begun.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the quarterback will start against the Bills.

After Mitchell Trubisky was replaced at halftime in the loss to the New York Jets, the news came as no surprise. The former Bears quarterback was replaced after completing just seven of 13 passes.

He completed 10 of his 13 passes for 120 yards and three picks, two of which were returned for a touchdown. He ran for 15 yards and two scores in relief of Trubisky.

The 28-year-old was replaced by the 29-year-old. The team went on to score 14 unanswered points and take a 20-10 lead before the Jets scored two fourth-quarter touchdown.

Trubisky hasn't been much of an effective player this season. He had completed 60.2 percent of his passes for 569 yards and two touchdown in the first four weeks of the season. He averaged just 5.5 yards per try.

Mike Tomlin had called for patience with Trubisky many times. He was steadfast in his belief in the veteran signal-caller after the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland.

After another disappointing performance in Week 4, it's hard to imagine Trubisky getting another chance to start.

It's time for Pickett to show the franchise what he can do as its leader after the team selected him in the first round of the NFL draft.
