The public ire of Ukraine's top officials was caused by Musk's claim that the most likely outcome of Russia's invasion of the country was that of a nuclear war.

The ambassador of Ukraine to Germany wrote a diplomatic reply to Musk. No Ukrainian will ever buy your f...ing shit. Good fortune to you.

The seven-month conflict was the subject of a poll posted by Musk. Specifically, that's right.

  1. That the Ukrainian territory of Crimea, which Russia annexed by force in 2014, be permanently given to Russia and guaranteed a permanent water supply.
  2. That the four regions of eastern Ukraine where Russia held sham referendums last month before illegally annexing the land be put to new referendums, this time organized by the United Nations.
  3. That Ukraine should be forced to remain "neutral," accomplishing the long-term Kremlin goal of barring Ukraine from joining the NATO defensive alliance.

Zelenskyy replied with a poll of his own.

Zelenskyy asked which Musk he liked more. Is it the one who supports Russia or the one who supports Ukraine?

Since the beginning of the conflict, Musk has earned quasi folk-hero status in Ukraine.
