Musk found himself in the middle of a new controversy on social media, this time over his decision to weigh in on how to resolve the war in Ukranian

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a presidential adviser, and Ukraine's ambassador to Germany were among those who objected to the CEO's message about Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Musk called for a vote as he sent out a list of conditions that he said could lead to peace between Russia and Ukraine.

"This is likely to be the outcome in the end, just a question of how many die before then," Musk said.

Melnyk replied by saying "Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you" Several Ukrainian officials called out Musk for his proposal.

Is the account ofelonmusk hacked? The advisor to the Ukrainian internal affairs minister asked if Musk himself had been hacked. He asked if Putin should annex the future Mars colony.

Dmytro Gurin, a member of Ukraine's parliament, wrote that Musk made a lot for the victory but went crazy.

A top advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to Musk's idea with a better peace plan.

"1-2." Ukrainians liberate their territories. Including the annexation of the Crimean peninsula. There are two Russia undergoes demilitarization and denuclearization in order to no longer threaten other people. There are three. War criminals are going through a court. He asked if he could vote.

Zelenskky made fun of Musk's attempt to solve a real-world crisis with a vote on social media.

Just a few days after pro-Russia proxies in four occupied regions in eastern and southern Ukraine held separate referendums on joining Russia, Musk called for a redo of the elections in annexed regions ofUkraine.

Russia encouraged teenagers to vote in order to boost the appearance of increased participation, while residents said they were forced to vote, according to the Ukrainian government.

Musk's suggestions for bringing about a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine echoed Kremlin talking points and ignored many of the realities on the battlefield.

Musk, who is a leader in the tech industry but not a historian nor an expert on military matters, parroted Moscow's false assertions thatUkraine belongs to it. Ukraine is not a real country and owes its history to Russia, despite the fact that it is centuries older than Moscow, according to Putin.

The territory was illegally annexed by Russia and is now part ofUkraine. All of the Ukrainian territories that were annexed by Putin last week are not fully controlled by the Russians.

The Ukrainian people have made it clear that they don't want to be taken over by Moscow, even though there is a shared history between the two countries.

Ukrainians voted in favor of independence from the Soviet Union.

Ukrainians waged a war against Kremlin-backed rebels in the east of the country prior to Russia's invasion. The Russian invaders are being pushed out by the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian government has made it clear that it will not agree to a peace deal that requires it to give up its territory.

With a counteroffensive by the Ukrainians progressing far better than expected, Kyiv has no reason to negotiate for a peace settlement.

I don't think there's room for negotiation for a long time because the Ukrainians have been winning and the Russians don't want them to. Why would you give up when you win? Jeffrey Edmonds told Insider last week.
