There is something for everyone from Ryan Reynolds' entrepreneurial ways. Reynolds continues to find new ways to promote his Aviation American Gin brand and his playful video ads for Mint Mobile.

One of his newest business priorities is a multi-year first look deal with the video streaming giant fuboTV. Since launching nearly eight years ago as a soccer streaming service, fuboTV has grown into a go to cable alternative with a wide variety of sports, entertainment and more. The future launch of the Maximum Effort Channel will be brought to fuboTV by a partnership deal with Reynolds and his team.

Reynolds says that they love doing non-traditional things and that they love betting on themselves. James Toney is an employee of Maximum Effort. He structured a deal that could be a game-changing win for fubo, but also for Maximum Effort, because we are going to get to do a lot of experimenting on the Maximum Effort Channel. It's going to be more of an entertainment "fever dream" than a traditional channel and we want to explore those creative frontiers.

The co-founder and CEO of fuboTV joined Reynolds and I to discuss their new deal. Our deal is in line with our plan to grow subscribers and drive advertising sales. I don't want to speak for Ryan, but the value that he brings to fubo will allow us to leverage his relationships with brands and with Hollywood. It is very interesting.

The team from Maximum Effort often come to the New York office of fuboTV to build this together from the ground up. When I asked if there was a projected launch date for Maximum Effort Channel, he said that they were aiming for a soft launch in the second quarter of 2023.

What types of shows should video streaming viewers expect to see? Reynolds says that they have a lot of different ways to explore. This is a chance for me to explore a couple of huge passion projects that I think are missing in the entertainment landscape. I don't know if I can give you an idea of what those are, but we have a few cards up our sleeves and I'm excited.

With the popularity of video streaming and the public demand for quick access to a wide variety of content right at our fingertips, I asked Gandler how collaborating with Reynolds and Maximum Effort will change the game moving forward for fuboTV.

The question is a great one. At fuboTV, we lead with the sports and get people to stay for the entertainment, and I don't think there's a more entertaining human out there than Ryan. We want to make sure that we have a package that allows us to really leverage all of the content that we have and with Ryan, we'll be able to differentiate and drive what's important for shareholders.

Reynolds has grown in his knowledge of sports and the business behind it since purchasing the Welsh soccer club in 2020.

Reynolds believes that sports are compelling because of the stories they tell. You don't just care about your team, you care about the player that overcame the challenge and was able to stand on that field. I like to tell stories through sports. It is hard to find a better way to tell a story than the sports world. We can come 90 degrees to that and do some interesting work in and around that space that will hopefully create something very unexpected. One of the huge North Stars at our company is doing things with joy and bringing people together and sports is no different.

fuboTV is the "underdog" in the video streaming category with its "sports-first content, interactive product features that consumers really can't get anywhere else." The first-ever J.D. Power Live Streaming TV Study Award was won by fuboTV.

I decided to ask Reynolds what he is learning most and enjoying most as he builds on his already extensive business portfolio because he is such a present and passionateentrepreneur today.

Reynolds says it may be a little cliché to say this but collaboration. I have been fortunate enough to work with some really forward- thinking and wildly interesting minds, not just in the business that this was all born out of, but also in show business. That collaboration is wonderful. People teach me a lot. James Toney is a guy that I work with that I think is a living, breathing genius and George Dewey is a guy that I now call a friend. The truth is that I have an incredible team that I work with that makes it possible for me to do things like this. That is how the sausage is made, so to speak, and I am very lucky to have it.

With Maximum Effort also continuing on as a film production company and digital marketing agency, Reynolds and his team released a new video on September 27 to provide an update about the progress of planning

I had to ask Reynolds if he's seen any of the films he's been involved in, following this much-discussed entertainment news over the past few days.

Reynolds says he couldn't be more thrilled. It's important to do it this way. I get to work with some of my closest friends in the world and that is something that doesn't happen often in this business. I have been sitting on those two previews for a while now. It's one of those times when you're messing with the Zeitgeist in a way that makes you shake your hand. It's been great. The fans and I do the same thing. This character is coming back for another ride and I'm excited about it. It is something that people have wanted for a long time to see, and we aim to make it happen.

As I ended my conversation with Reynolds and Gandler about fuboTV's plans for the Maximum Effort Channel, I wondered how they had noticed that the world itself was evolving with video streaming.

ThefuboTV side is more about the technology component of it - of really developing discovery and artificial intelligence to make sure that we're bubbling up the content that makes the most sense to people. It's very important for us to be able to provide a significant breadth of content across many genres to ensure that there's always something there in cases where people feel like they need something or they're missing something It is our job and our goal.

Audiences really appreciate having some authorship over stories that are being told and why stories are being told. If it wasn't for the demand from audiences across all social media platforms, the movie wouldn't have gotten the green light. I think it's important to remember who the real boss is, because they feel some authorship and ownership over that triumph. The real boss is the people at home and the people going to the cinema to pay their way in, that's what we have at Maximum Effort and definitely at fubo.
