Goalkeeper

Pickford is fromEverton.

The save from Adam was the turning point. Kyle Walker-Peters' shot was parried by England's number one, without any hint of heroics. Something has gone wrong with Jordan Pickford's game since Frank Lampard arrived. A real confidence has been instilled in the defence by the goalkeeper. It puts them on the same number of points as the other team and it shows how much they care about each other.

Defenders

Thiago Silva is a member of the club.

I think that Thiago was lucky to stay on the field. The last man in defence rule was put in place to stop cynical fouls, but the referee chose to leave the defender on the pitch even though he had a hand in the goal. No latitude is given when players try to win the ball late in the game but are defeated due to the opponent's speed or ingenuity. Silva is keeping an eye on the progress of both Fofana and Koulibaly at the same time. It was a great way to set up Pierre-Emerick's goal.

There is a person named Coady who works forEverton.

Apart from the fact that he is a very good defender, his movement in the penalty area is similar to a strikers movement. It's possible to tell when a player loves scoring goals. Even though they are still some way from being a top-six side, they will still be fighting to keep their manager. It's premature to talk of the manager taking over from the England coach at the end of the World Cup. He is popular but inexperienced.

William Saliba is a player for the football team.

The man is looking better every time he plays. His calm demeanor in his first derby was outstanding. If the Spurs are to have any chance of winning a trophy this season, they need to keep calm in big games. Ordinary saves made by Hugo Lloris are a liability in the games that matter. It was disturbing that Conte didn't know that Royal was incapable of dealing with the threat of Gabriel Martinelli and his sending-off cost Spurs the match.

Midfielders

Granit Xhaka is a player for the football team.

I used to condemn Granit Xhaka for his lack of discipline in big games for the team. I am happy for him for his conduct. I was taken by the way he corralled his team-mates after their first goal against their north London rivals, in an attempt to retain an element of composure. It's a pity that he couldn't do the same. The tackle on Martinelli was cold and calculated. He shouldn't be allowed to play for three games.

De Bruyne is from Man City.

Within 45 minutes, the game was over. The fans were leaving the stadium in large numbers. Wouldn't you rather watch another half of Kevin de Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden destroy your team? I can't remember the last time I saw a United side look so intimidated. The bench was occupied by Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte. To think that City were prepared to keep two of their best defenders on the bench in the Manchester derby in order to keep them fresh for Wednesday's game.

There is a person named Miguel Almiron in the city ofNewcastle.

The travelling fans must have enjoyed themselves. The team is full of players who want to be in the side under Eddie Howe. The reckless and unnecessary tackle by Nathaniel Chalobah on Sean Longstaff helped their win over Cottagers. Poor decision-making and the fact that players in the modern era commit themselves to tackles they are not guaranteed to win is what led to the downfall of the two players. There are a lot of people having the time of their life. If they play like this, they are capable of finishing in the top six.

There is a person named Leandro Trossard in the city ofBrighton.

There aren't many players who have scored three goals away from home. Alisson, a genuine world-class goalkeeper, was no chance after Leandro Trossard's two opening goals for the Seagulls. There are players who might have left the field if Trossard hadn't taken a knock in the second half, but the Belgium international gathered himself, got back on the pitch and scored a hat-trick. There's no reason why the team can't get better now that Roberto de Zerbi is in charge.

Forwards

Firmino is fromLiverpool

Two finishes by Bobby Firmino were the best. There is a chance that the Brazilian may not have the legs to be a regular in the team. If you need a cool head in front of goal when the chips are down, Firmino is the man for you. I'm told by fans that Thiago is their main man. If he could run, he would be. The Spaniard is an artist. He doesn't have the finishing skills of Firmino. Firmino is in a different class than Thiago if we are going to compare their contributions to the team.

The man is from Manchester City.

There was much more to come from Phil Foden. He scored a great goal that day. Foden looked more like the finished article than he did against the Reds. He was playing as a false number nine in the first half but was moved to his natural position by the time the game ended. Foden didn't look back after that. He scored a hat-trick against Manchester United. This is from a boy who is happy to be in the team and ready to do his job.

Man City is home to Erling Haaland.

It's quite special to score a hat-trick in a season, but to do it in three consecutive home matches in the premier league is something else. Haaland plays for a team that makes chances easy to come by. Is it any wonder that the Norwegian superstar is scoring goals all day long? What will happen to City if Haaland is injured? Gabriel Jesus has already been removed from the scene. This is the only hope for the three teams. All of us should pack our bags and leave if Haaland is fit.

The Crooks of the Matter

Under new measures to tackle fan behavior, pitch invaders will now be banned from the club. I am not sure what has taken football's authorities so long to implement the obvious. The measures should have been put in place a long time ago. It was after the pitch invasion when Manchester City won the premier league title.

The delay in issuing banning orders and prosecutions has made offenders think they can bring smoke bombs and pyrotechnics to games in order to enhance their presence without thinking about player safety.

The only way to cure the game of this pestilence is by banning orders and jail sentences.
