The two companies launched a partnership in May. Ride sharing apps can develop relationships with other travel providers. Frequent travelers use ride sharing apps more than average people.
Everything you need to know about this partnership is summarized in this post. There is an extra bonus for those who haven't yet taken part in this partnership, which is all the more reason to link your accounts and take a ride during the month of October.
It is possible to earn points for your ride with the partnership between the two companies. People who link their accounts at hiltonhonorslyft.com will earn points for every ride they take on the ride sharing service. The structure of the earnings is listed below.
The points should be posted within 24 hours. To me, this is equivalent to a 1.5% return on most rides, and a 1% return on shared rides.
You can earn 1,000 bonus points when you link your two accounts, and complete an eligible ride between September 29 and October 31. There is no registration required, and an eligible ride can be booked via the Lyft app. It's possible to get a ride with the following companies:
If members de-link and then re-link their accounts during the promotion period, they wouldn't be eligible for this offer. This isn't the highest value offer ever, but it's still worth taking advantage of if you're not already part of the collaboration
You can redeem yourHiltonHonors points for Lyft rides in addition to earning them.
It is not a good deal at all. You can redeem points for credits in a variety of denominations, and no matter which one you choose, you are paying about 4.5 points per cent of the credit.
This method gives you less value per point than my method but it is still worth it. This is not a good way to redeem.
There are other travel companies that have partnerships with Lyft. In the US, there is a partnership with Delta SkyMiles, and accounts can be linked at Deltalyft.com. The partnership has the potential to earn mileage.
Back in the day it was possible to double dip, and earn both Delta SkyMiles and HiltonHonors points with the same ride. You now have to choose between the two after this practice ended. In the rewards section of the app, you can choose your partner earning program. If you register with any program first, it will default to that program.
I value Delta SkyMiles at 1.1 cents each, so I think the partnership with HHonors is better. If you have a lot of airport rides, there is only one exception.
Several Chase cards offer bonus points on spending on Lyft. Chase credit cards are giving bonus points on rides on the ride sharing service.
You can use your Chase card to pay for rides by adding it to your profile. There is no limit on the number of bonus points you can earn, and this can be stacked with other rewards.
You should use one of the best cards for ride sharing purchases if you don't have one of those cards. The American Express Green Card has 3x points on travel and the World of Hyatt Credit Card has 2x points on ride sharing.
These partnerships are great because they allow you to earn bonus points for things you do anyways. I enjoy earning points for these rides, even though I wouldn't redeem them forHiltonHonors points.
It's a great combination to earn an extra 3xHiltonHonors points per dollar spent on Lyft rides, and 10x ChaseUltimateRewards points by paying with the Chase Reserve.
Do you have any use for the partnership?
