US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin criticized "nuclear saber-rattling," but said he has no indication that Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to deploy nuclear weapons.

The military leader said that it would be up to Putin to make such a decision, according to Fareed.

Austin said that it was one man who made the decision about a potential nuclear conflict.

There are no checks on him. He could make another decision like he did when he invaded Ukraine. Right now, I don't believe that he has made such a decision.

On Sunday, the full interview with Austin will be aired.

Austin told Shoigu not to go down that path.

Austin has talked to Shoigu in the past, but he has not talked to him recently. I warned people not to conduct this type of irresponsible behavior after addressing this issue.

If the United States used nuclear weapons in Ukraine, it would face catastrophic consequences.
