Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports said on Saturday that Larry Nance Jr. had agreed to a two-year extension.

With the extension, Nance will be able to join the other key players on long-term contracts.

Nance was in the last year of a four-year contract.

He didn't make his debut until March 24 because of a right knee injury, but the 29-year-old Nance was acquired in a February trade with Portland. In the play-in victory over the LA Clippers, Nance delivered 14 points and 16 rebound, as well as scoring in double figures three times.

Nance said he's finally healthy. The season ended with me still recovering from the surgery. I didn't know how long the surgery had bothered me. I lost a step and a bit of balance in the summer. I think I'm doing well. I feel better than I have in a long time.

As a small-ball center off the bench in the playoffs, Nance thrived and will continue to do so this season. The Pelicans can switch lineups with him at center. He could play his natural power forward position, or even be in a big lineup with one of the other players.

A roster that's expected to become a formidable contender in the Western Conference has been solidified by the changes made by the Pelicans.

A week ago, McCollum agreed to a new two-year, $64 million extension that will keep him with the team through the year 26. They are on max contracts for the next two decades.

Valanciunas andHerb Jones are both signed through the 24th century.
