There is a good reason why you won't be able to watch a bunch of college football, your favorite Disney show, or a lot of other channels on Sling TV this Saturday. The two companies failed to reach an agreement in time for you to watch the shows you are paying for.

We have seen it before with a lot of streaming services, from the likes of YouTube TV to Sling TV.

Sling TV on Apple TV.

Where should I go to get my ire? It is Disney's fault, according to Sling. The company promised on its website that it would try to reach an agreement with Disney that would ensure the best value for its subscribers. We are working to get your channels back. It said that Disney was offered a contract extension to keep working towards an agreement. They wouldn't accept the offer.

We don't know if Sling's offer was reasonable or if Disney's offer was too high. Disney uses the renewal period to try and increase the amount of money companies pay for their programming. Disney hopes that if you do this you will get upset and contact Sling to get us to accept their higher rates.

Disney is likely to say that Sling doesn't meet the cost increases necessitated by the growing market.

Either the companies come to terms and the channels return, or they don't, it's a tired back-and-forth that affects subscribers more than anyone While nearly three dozen channels are gone, Sling didn't say if its monthly fees will be adjusted.

The third largest live streaming service in the US is believed to be Sling TV. It has more than 5 million subs. You can watch Sling TV on all major platforms. Its $35-a-month plans have less channels that you might be used to, but that you can add extras to build out your service. It is close but not quite a la carte.
