  • The British monarchy has been rumored to be slimmed down.

  • Queen Margrethe has stripped family members of royal titles.

  • According to a royal expert, Charles is likely to be watching how the decision is made.

As he considers restructuring the British monarchy, King Charles III is keeping an eye on the situation in Denmark, where the queen stripped some of her grandsons of royal titles.

The titles of prince and princess will no longer be used by four of Queen Margrethe II's eight grandchildren. After Queen Elizabeth II's death, Margrethe became the longest serving monarch in Europe. Her decision came in line with how other royal houses are trying to slim down their monarchies, according to the statement.

It's not clear which royal houses she was referring to, however it's long been reported that Charles supports a slimmed down British monarchy. The number of UK royals will be cut from 22 to seven after Charles takes the throne, as reported by publications including The Telegraph.

The royal household and Buckingham Palace did not reply immediately.

According to Insider, an expert in British and European royalty said that following Margrethe's announcement, it's likely Charles and his team will be taking notes.

Prince Joachim, Margrethe's youngest son, expressed frustration to the media about the announcement.

All of us are sad. He told Ekstra Bladet that it was not fun to see your children mistreated. They don't understand a situation they find themselves in.

He said that his mother's decision upset his children. He asked if their identity should be taken away. They must be punished in that way.

Charles is taking notice, according to royal expert Marlene Koenig

Charles and his advisors are keeping an eye on the situation. One would hope that if he does a surgical strike, he talks with the York princesses first.

Other royals who may be at risk of losing titles include Prince Harry and his children, Archie and Lilibet, who were technically entitled to start using royal titles after Queen Elizabeth. King George V's 1917 Letters Patent states that his children and grandsons can use the titles as their direct descendants. The British royal family's website lists Archie and Lilibet as "master" and "miss," but it's not clear if Harry andMeghan's children will use them.

The focus will remain on what is best for the future of the monarchy in the UK, even though Charles and his advisors may be keeping an eye on the reactions to Margrethe's decision.

She said that Charles would be aware of the changes in other houses but the focus was on what to do in the UK. It's not relevant to the British.

Although Charles is a distant relative of Margrethe, the relationship between British monarchs and those in Europe has deteriorated over time.

She said that royal houses in the Nordic countries have close relationships. She said that the monarchies are close friends. Three heirs are in touch.

The British royals don't mingle much with the other European royals.

The UK and European royals still have a lot in common. Margrethe and Queen Elizabeth II were friends for a long time. The first international royal to send a letter of sympathy was the queen of the Danes.

Margrethe sent her warmest thoughts and prayers to the two people. She was an inspiration to us all. She will be missed terribly.
