Allen was injured in the first week of the season.
Brandon Staley expressed growing confidence that Allen could return against the Texans.
On Friday, he said that Allen felt something during individual drills.
"We're going to hold him out of this game, just to make sure that he keeps making progress, and that's what we're going to do," he said. He wasn't able to make it this week because of a major injury, so we'll give it another chance next week.
Allen did not suffer a big blow. He didn't make enough progress to get to the game.
Since the beginning of the year, Allen has been leading the team in catches.
Guyton tore his left knee on Sunday and is out for the season.
