  • Samsung Galaxy S22, S21 series, and S21 FE receive the October 2022 security patch.
  • The patch notes are incredibly light, only detailing its improved security and system stability.
  • While some regions are missing the update, it should gradually make its way to more areas in the coming days.

There is a security patch for the S22 and S21 FE.

The first line of phones to get a security patch is the S22 series. The update applies to unlocked versions of the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in the US. The update has been sent to our unit on T-Mobile. We expect other carriers to get the updates as time goes on.

The changelog is lighter than usual, but there was a big patch back in September which fixed a lot of high priority issues. There are several security improvements and system stability upgrades in the October 2022 patch, but no details are currently available.

The locked versions of the phone will get the update. The October patch in Europe is called S90xBXXS2AVI7. In Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, there will be a new version.

In the US and Germany, the October update for the S21 is already available. There are two versions of G99xU1UES5CVI8: one in the US and one in Germany.

The security patch is for October. The S21 FE is the first non-flagship phone to be patched.

Users in India will see the first version of the software before it goes to other regions. Along with the rest of the cast, the patch notes for the S21 FE are already out. While fixes for security and stability improvements are included in the update, there is no mention of anything noteworthy on the official security page of the company.

The update should be sent to your device immediately. If it hasn't, you can always manually attempt to begin it by sliding over to your settings.
