The head coach of Hull City has been fired.

The Georgian was appointed in January and he led the team to safety and a 19th place finish in the Championship.

They have only three wins from 10 games and are currently 20th in the table.

AndyDawson was named interim head coach just hours before the game.

The club's assistant head coach has left immediately.

Ilicali said that they had meetings with Shota to discuss the direction of the team and the future of the club.

Grant McCann was sacked after the club's takeover by a Turkey-based group.

He first met Ilicali in the Netherlands, where he worked as a coach.
