David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins are making progress on a new contract with training camp well under way.
The contract talks between the Bruins and Pastrnak are heating up.
Both sides are assessing the market, and Pastrnak is hopeful that something will get done sooner than later.
Pastrnak's camp was open to contract negotiations during the season, according to a recent report.
The Bruins had been rumored to be interested in trading Pastrnak, but he told reporters earlier this month that he would like to sign an extension with the team.
The city is where I can become the player I am and the human being I am. The organization in Boston is amazing. I came here as a child and now I am a man. I'm very pleased. There are a lot of good memories. It's an honor to wear this jersey and I love it here.
One of the biggest steals of the draft class was Pastrnak, who was selected by the Bruins in the 25th round. He signed a six-year, $40 million contract with the Bruins in September of last year.

Pastrnak will enter the 2022-23 season with high expectations after he racked up 40 goals and 37 assists for 77 points in 72 games during the 21st century.
He's expected to be one of Boston's top scorers again along with Brad Marchand, and he could play with his fellow countryman and Taylor Hall.
On October 12th, the Bruins will play the Washington Caps.
