Stadia will be shutting down and players will be refunds.

When Stadia launched in November of last year, it was seen as a way to stream games without owning a console.

The service will end on January 18, 2023 because of a lack of interest in gaming.

Players who purchased the Stadia controller will be getting refunds.

The refunds are expected to be finished by mid-January.

Stadia, a consumer gaming service, was launched a few years ago, according to Phil Harrison.

"While Stadia's approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn't gained the traction with users that we expected so we've made the difficult decision to end our Stadia streaming service."

Even when you're a giant in your own right, it's difficult to take on the giants. Microsoft and Sony have lucrative deals with the world's biggest games publishers, which makes it hard to duplicate what works for Xbox and PS4.

It's no surprise that Phil Harrison said that Stadia hadn't gained the traction that he thought it would.

The announcement of a studio to make games comes as a result of the decision by the search engine giant.
