A stunning aerial video shows homes, bridges, roads and trees flattened across portions of Lee County in southwest Florida Thursday morning after Hurricane Ian made landfall nearby as a Category 4 storm.
The video was taken during an aerial damage assessment by the Lee County Sheriff.
It looks like a large tornado went through Fort Myers Beach. He said at the press conference that the buildings were gone.

Dozens of rescues have been made in high water. Residents were told to stay inside to make way for rescue and clean up. There are threats to the public outside, such as downed power lines, debris, and flooding.
He said that they don't want you to be out and get hurt and that they want you to stay clear so they can get out there and access what they have.
Many residents are unable to boil water due to a lack of power, but local officials have acknowledged that many are able to.

A major disaster declaration for Florida was approved by President Joe Biden on Thursday, making federal funding available for residents in multiple counties.
He said after attending a Federal Emergency Management Agency briefing that they were going to do their best to rebuild Florida.
