The Cybertruck has had fans and potential buyers excited for a long time. It's not hard to see why, with its sleek, polygonal features looking like something from the original 1982 "Tron," and claims of remarkableDurability and bulletproof glass that sounds like the selling points of an action figure's car.
Musk claims that the EV truck will double as a boat.
"Cybertruck will be waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat, so it can cross rivers, lakes and even seas that aren't too choppy," said Musk in a statement. It needs to be possible to get from Starbase to South Padre Island.
It is possible that Musk is being facetious once again, but you can never be certain. In 2020, Musk said that the truck could "even float for a while," but he didn't go as far as to say it was a watercraft. The company that imagined the amphibious kit for the Cybertruck was overly-eager.
It is not Musk's most absurd claim. Musk said that a special edition of the Cybertruck would be the official truck of Mars and that it would be on a planned cargo mission to the Red Planet.
The only thing we can think of from Musk is that the price of the Cybertruck is dead and gone, so expect to pay more than that.
Considering that people bought into the Mars Cybertruck hype, Musk should be careful about what he says about it. We don't recommend driving a boat into a pond if it's not bulletproof.
There is a cybertruck on public street.
