Audiences will return to the planet of the apes in the year 2041. The title of the next movie in the franchise is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and it will be released in October. The film is directed by Wes Ball and features Owen Teague as the primary ape. The main human has been joined by the main human from The Orville.
Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios, said in a press release that the franchise is one of the most important and enduring science fiction films of all time. We can't wait to share Wes' extraordinary vision for this new chapter with audiences in 2024, and we are privileged to continue the series' tradition of imaginative, thought- provoking cinema.
The previous film ended with Caesar dying, but his friend Maurice promised him his son would know of him. The story, which is written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, andAmanda Silver, who worked on theAvatar sequels as well as previous Apes movies, will pick up somewhere from that.

Disney has a May 24, 2024 release date listed as an "Untitled 20th Century" film, and the studio head says that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes doesn't have a release date.
