After two and a half years, the game streaming service is over. After January 18 of next year, subscribers will no longer have access to the library. All refunds for subscribers are expected to be issued by around that time, as well, according to a post on the internet search giant's website.
There had been previous problems with the service. Stadia is not shutting down. We are always working to bring more great games to the platform. The strategy of offering months-long trials was taken by the search giant.
Stadia is not shutting down. Rest assured we're always working on bringing more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro. Let us know if you have other questions.

Stadia's approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, but it hasn't gained traction with users that we expected.
There is a kind of silver lining in the infrastructure the company built. Harrison says something.
We see clear opportunities to apply this technology across other parts of Google like YouTube, Google Play, and our Augmented Reality (AR) efforts — as well as make it available to our industry partners, which aligns with where we see the future of gaming headed. We remain deeply committed to gaming, and we will continue to invest in new tools, technologies and platforms that power the success of developers, industry partners, cloud customers and creators.
The service received good reviews, but it faced stiff competition from first-party Sony and Microsoft offerings, as well as Amazon's similar platform, Luna. Stadia Games and Entertainment, an internal development studio, was shut down last February. Harrison said that they would not be investing more in bringing exclusive content from their internal development team, beyond any near term planned games.
The employees who remained on the Stadia team will be moved to other positions within the company.
