Rihanna

Get right to it. The situation feels uncomfortable.

She decided to perform during the halftime show of the Super Bowl LVII.

At the time, she turned down an offer to perform at the halftime show in solidarity with the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who was blackballed by the league for kneeling during the national anthem.

I couldn't do that. Is this for something? Who makes a gain from that? It wasn't my people. I just couldn't sell out. I couldn't be an individual who helped others. She told Vogue that she was not going to serve them in any way because she did not agree with certain things within the organization.

It was an example of why we love how she doesn't give a shit. It is also why so many of us are confused.

The NFL had a hard time finding a performer to perform at the halftime show. Trump was in the middle of his war with the NFL as players were kneeling, as Colin Kaepernick had only been out of the league for a short time. Pink turned down the opportunity to play in the National Football League. The league got Maroon 5 to sign on. The league overlooked getting a Black act to perform at the Super Bowl because it was in Atlanta. The Maroon 5 press conference was canceled because of the backlash.

The league was able to find some Black people at the last minute, and as a result, they were able to get a couple of people to sign on. The damage was done as fans felt like the league was still playing it too safe after the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake fiasco.

The league made a deal with Jay-Z to fix everything.

Back to the person.

There has been a lot of change since she gave that interview. After that interview, she became a millionaire. She is now engaged and a mother.

Do you know what hasn't changed?

Black people are treated differently by the football team. It's gotten worse. She decided to be of service to them because the organization that was doing things that she didn't like is still doing those things.

As he faced questions from the media during his annual press conference, Roger Goodell was under scrutiny as he originally said no to the Super Bowl. There were many questions about why the Los Angeles Rams were in the Super Bowl, but not the New Orleans Saints, because of the lack of Black coaches in the league.

If she was upset with this league then she should be angry now.

Last year, it was revealed that the league had been participating in race norming, a practice that assumed Black players and white players did not have the same intelligence, due to a racist belief that Black people have lower cognitive levels than white people. The league has stopped using the system and will pay millions to former Black players.

The league only has three Black head coaches, which is why former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores and two others filed a class-action lawsuit against the league. The Washington Post had a series on how the NFL blocks Black coaches. It is an examination of how much hate and racism has always been in the NFL, which has led to the unfair hiring practices we see today.

There is what Kaepernick has gone through.

Jay-Z said that we had moved past kneeling, the NFL threw a sham of a workout for the quarterback, and the Raiders owner said that he believed Kap. He wasn't signed by them. The team has yet to win a game.

Rhianna is a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations. One of the most prominent artists of all time was born on the small island of Barbados. Jay-Z said in a statement that he was self-made in business and entertainment.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show, which featured friends of Jay-Z like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige, won an award for the first time. There are reports that 50-plus people are in the running to attend the halftime show.

This is a great opportunity for a global artist to step back into the spotlight, with Jay-Z running the halftime show after not releasing an album in two years. It doesn't address the bigger question of "what changed?" given that the NFL hasn't

We will have to wait for her at the press conference.
