Law enforcement sources tell us paramedics were called to a house in Los Angeles and pronounced Coolio dead at the scene.

There does not seem to be any signs of foul play as of right now, according to police. Our sources tell us that the coroner will make a final determination after an autopsy.

The man who achieved enormous success in the 90s was visiting a friend when he died.

Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend's house, but when he didn't come out after a while, the friend went in and found him laying on the floor.

Coolio died on the scene after a friend called the EMTs, who arrived and pronounced him dead. There is no official cause of death.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., came up on the L.A. rap scene in the late 80s, but blew up nationally in 1995 with his song "Gangsta's Paradise."

The song stayed at the top of the charts for three weeks.

Coolio had several other hits, including 1994's Fantastic Voyage, which hit #3 on the Hot 100.

Coolio was older than 50.
