The Yankees game against the Orioles on Friday will be broadcasted on the Yankee Entertainment and Sports (YES) network instead of being exclusive to Amazon Prime Video. Apple didn't do it last week despite pleas from New York's Attorney General

Many Yankees fans will want to watch the game as Judge could tie the record for home runs in a game. Last Friday, New York's attorney general called on Apple to make the Yankees game available on cable. James said that it was difficult for people to watch the Yankees on YES if they had to use the streaming service.

This week isn't the same thing as it was with Apple. For one thing, Amazon is an investor in YES with a 15 percent stake, so the game played on both Prime and cable is mostly a win-WIN, and YES has been heavily involved in producing the broadcasts that aired on Amazon Prime. Friday's game is the final one in Amazon's exclusive lineup, so it's not setting expectations for the rest of the season.

One major difference is that Apple TV makes its games available for free to anyone with a web browser or a mobile device. You can get a Prime Video subscription for $8.49 a month, but it's only for one year.

The move to air Friday's game on both Prime Video and YES is a return to how things were before this year, when games were available via both Amazon's streaming service and cable. The AG's office and Amazon didn't reply immediately. The game is on Friday.
