Texas A&M beat Oklahoma on the recruiting trail on Wednesday when a defensive lineman chose to go to Texas A&M.

In the state of Texas, he is the third-ranked recruit. He had narrowed his list to Alabama, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M before making his college decision.

One of the more sought after defensive prospects in the class will be joining the A's.

Texas A&M has a great coaching staff and I have a great relationship with all of them, according to the coach. I can stay close to home because they've been recruiting me for a long time.

After signing the top class in the country in 2021, the Aggies had a slow start in the next cycle. Jimbo Fisher and his staff had several recruits. The staff has landed three prospects in September, including Bravion Rogers, the 61st ranked prospect in the country.

Texas A&M now has the No. 1 and 3 recruits in the state of Texas as a result of the addition of Hicks. Fisher beat Venables for an elite defensive prospect.

Jackson Arnold, a quarterback, and Jaquaize Pettaway, a receiver, are two of the top players in Texas.

Five-star defensive linemen Walter Nolen and Shemar Stewart are two of 13 defensive recruits signed by Fisher's staff.

Texas A&M has landed 13 defensive linemen over the last three recruiting classes.
