How can high-end hotel brands increase their reach? It's going to launch a fleet of luxury yachts to compete with the upscale cruise lines for intimate experiences, fine dining, elegant accommodations and personalized service.
Ritz-Carlton will debut its first yacht in the fall and Four Seasons will deliver its first vessel by the end of the century.
The president of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts said that Four Seasons Yachts was the next chapter in the company's long history of innovation.
The brand has expanded past hotels before. It also offers the Four Seasons Private Jet Experience, as well as a yacht that offers three to seven-night cruises from and between the brand's two properties in theMaldives.
This new venture will be given every chance of success by Four Seasons.
The ships will be designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden and Martin Brudnizki Design studio.
They will be built by established Italian shipbuilders and run by Larry Pimentel, a veteran of the luxury cruise marketplace.
The first Four Seasons Yacht will debut at the end of the 20th century, and there are options for two more ships.
95 suites can be combined into an expansive indoor- outdoor living space on the 14-deck yacht. More than half of the suites will have over 800 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Regent Suite was voted the most spectacular suite by TPG, and the Funnel Suite is a four-level suite with a private pool and spa.
A spa and salon with a 1 to 1 guest-to-staff ratio, a large pool deck that can double as a special event space, and bars and restaurants that will stay true to Four Seasons' history of innovation are some of the luxurious touches that will be included at the new Four
Passengers will be able to enjoy water sports and toys from the port to starboard on the yacht.

How will the new Four Seasons Yacht compare to the first yacht from the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection?
There will be a full-service spa and fitness center.
Ritz-Carlton initially contracted with a shipyard in Spain that was not known for building cruise ships. The yacht was moved to the Astander shipyard in Spain due to issues with that facility.
Chantiers de l'Atlantique is a French shipyard that builds cruise ships. It's 33 months behind schedule for evrima.
As design plans are finished and building begins, expect Four Seasons to reveal more information in the coming months. The brand thinks its entry into yachting will change the industry.
A new category of luxury lifestyle travel is being created. Pimentel said that they are bringing together the very best across industries to create a yachting offering. There won't be anything like it on the open seas when we launch.
