Bosa will have surgery to repair his groin injury and will be placed on injured reserve.

He is expected to come back this season.

Bosa had an injury in the team's Week 3 game and was ruled out. He was injured for a week-to-week.

Bosa has made seven tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The defense will be hurt without Bosa on the field. Pressure will be put on Kyle Van Noy and Chris Rumph II.

The league's best defensive player is Bosa. A Pro Bowl selection in four of the next five years is what the third overall pick in the 2016 draft will get.

Injuries slowed him down in the other two years as he reached double-digit sacks in four of his first six seasons. He played just seven games in the year due to a foot injury.

The team hopes to avoid a long-term issue after they signed Bosa to a five-year contract.
