Amazon showed off its new products at the fall event. The speaker's fifth generation has been souped up. They have a completely redesign of their audio architecture under the hood that gives them two times the bass of the previous model.
The smart speakers use Amazon's AZ2 neural edge processor that allows them to do more actions local. A new temperature sensor, tap gesture controls, and Dots can double as wi-fi extenders for an Eero mesh system are some of the new features.
The popular echo dot with clock model has had its dot display upgraded With a higher resolution, it can offer up more dynamic, glanceable info than before.
The weather, a calculation or unit of measurement, and calendar event times are included.
There is a new deep sea blue color for the echo dot and a new cloud blue option for the echo dot with clock. The new owl and dragon designs of the Echo Dot Kids can be used to talk to your child.
Dots will be shipped next month. A one-year subscription to Kids Plus is included with the characterful Dots.

The new Dots have a temperature sensor, which can be used to set up a smart home routine, such as turning on your smart fan when the room gets too warm.
More tap gestures can be added with the addition of an accelerometer. You used to be able to snooze the alarm with a tap on top of the dot.
If you own an Eero mesh wi-fi system, the wi-fi extension feature is probably the most interesting innovation here. On October 20th, there will be a free over-the-air update for the fourth-gen echo and echo dot with clock. The Echo studio was upgraded at the fall event. There isn't a big redesign despite Amazon's best-sounding speaker Debuting in 2019. An over-the-air update will improve the big boy speaker's stereo sound.
According to the VP of Amazon devices, Soundtracks feel closer with greater width, clarity, and presence. Frequency range extension technology improves performance and clarity.
The spatial audio processing technology will be compatible with other compatible devices in the future according to Amazon. The Amazon Music unlimited service has spatial audio.
A white version of the speaker is now available for $199.99 at the studio.
It's refreshing that the company didn't come out with a raft of new speakers to replace devices that are less than three years old. It is bringing new features to older devices which is something no one can complain about.
It is possible that we didn't see a refresh of the flagship echo fourth-gen speaker because the company is waiting on the new smart home standard Matter Amazon has said that the speaker will be a Matter controller. With Matter slated to launch sometime in the next few months, I believe we will hear more about the speaker.
