There was an oil leak in Louisiana.
According to local news outlet FOX 8, there was a 20,000 gallon oil leak that may have been caused by criminal activity at the Entergy station. A day or two before the leak was detected, two large transformers full of oil were stolen from the station.
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff said that they received a call of suspicious activity at the Entergy site.
The sheriff said that the smell was caused by leaking oil.
It appears that a plug was removed from a tank which caused the spillage out on the ground, not certain if that was criminal damage to property or theft.
The spill is contained for now.
Brandon Scardigli, Entergy Louisiana's communications director, said that the oil did not contain PCBs. The oil sheen is contained within a floating containment boom.
Last month a Russian man was sentenced for dumping toxic oil off the coast of Louisiana, which caused a massive oil leak.
The state needs to survive more environmental disasters.
Scientists sent a drone into the storm.
