We are getting closer to the launch of the new phones, with the fall launch event set to take place on October 6th.

We have an idea of what to expect, but there may be a few surprises. We are looking forward to the event.

The Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro to arrive with incremental upgrades

There wouldn't be a launch event without new phones. During I/O back in May, we were given a brief glimpse of what the new phones would look like.

The renders of the devices were shown at the event, each with an aluminum camera bar and an upgrade to the Tensor G2 chip. There are two cutouts for the three-camera array in the Pro version of the Pixel 7.

We don't expect a lot of changes when it comes to camera specifications, as the Pixel 7 is rumored to have the same 50MP main sensor as the other two phones. The base Pixel 7 and 7 Pro could come with an upgraded 11MP front-facing camera like the one found in thePixel 6 Pro.

The displays of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro may be the same as their predecessors, with 90 and 120 frames per second displays. The display on the Pixel 7 may be slightly smaller than the one on the Pixel 6, which could help conserve battery.

Prototypes of the device have made their way around the internet, with one user claiming to sell one on eBay and another saying they purchased the device from Facebook. A more finalized version of thePixel 7 Pro popped up in a video at a tech shop in Bangladesh. At I/O, we were shown images and videos of the device, but they don't tell us much about it.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are expected to be the same price as the other two phones. According to Artem Russakovskii, the potential prices for the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are $599 and $899, respectively.

The launch of Google’s first Pixel smartwatch

The release of the newPixel watch is one of the most exciting things coming out of the event. Rumors about the device have been floating around for months, despite the official announcement of the device at I/O.

The circular dome-style watchface, side button, and proprietary band that you can swap out for other styles are already known. It will come with an improved version of Wear OS 3 that will include native apps from the likes of Google. You can view and track health information with the watch, such as heart rate, sleep tracking, and active zone minutes.

A source told 9to5Google that the Pixel Watch could come with up to 32 gigabytes of storage, 1.5 gigabytes of RAM, and a powerful Exynos 9110 processor. The device could have a 40mm watchface, which is 14mm thick, and a 30mm display, which is 14mm thick.

According to a report from 9to5Google, there will be a $349 version of the watch and a more expensive option withLTE. It could come in three different colors.

A (slightly) more powerful Tensor G2 chip

The first in-house chip of its kind was revealed last year. Rumors have already given us an idea of what to expect from the second generation of the chip when it is revealed.

There is data on Geekbench that shows the processor could have the same core count as the first chip. A 20 percent performance improvement and a 20 percent power reduction should be given to the graphics card.

Another look at the Google Pixel tablet

At I/O earlier this year, there was a tease of the Pixel tablets. My colleague Dan Seifert said it looked like a device from the past. At I/O, we know for certain that it will run the operating system, but we don't know much else about it.

The leaked information has given us some clues about what to expect. It could have an 11-inch display, as well as 128 and 512 gigabytes of storage, according to the leaked information. There was evidence of a variation of the "Pro" tablet in the first release of the platform. It is not clear what the differences between the standard and Pro versions will be.

We might not see the device by the end of the year if we don't get a better look at it. At I/O, the company said it would launch the device in 2023.

Some new Nest devices

Some new smart home tech will be on display at the event. One of the things we are expecting is a "pro" version of the Nest wi-fi routers.

The upcoming device was listed on B&H Photos. According to a listing with the FCC, the name "Nest Wifi Pro" could support the Matter smart home standard, as well as Thread mesh networking radios.

A new wired doorbell could be on the way. We don't know much about the device besides the renders found in the app.

Is a Pixel foldable in the cards?

Since last year, there have been rumors about a foldable device called the Pixel. According to recent leaks, it could be a single device, and it could fold vertically.

The code that refers to the folded and unfolded states of a device was spotted in September. The device could have a 64MP primary sensor, a 10.8MP telephoto lens on the back, and an 8MP sensor on the inside, according to the code.
