A photo that appeared to show a man in a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood was the reason for his resignation.
On August 3, Jeffery Moore took the oath of office as a member of the board of county commissioners. Moore, a resident of Havana and a former tax law specialist with the Florida Department of Revenue, was appointed to be a county commissioner by the new governor.
Moore is dressed in Klan attire in the picture. It was spread by popular left-leaning accounts like that of an attorney and a marine.

Moore submitted his resignation to the governor's office on Friday.
Moore submitted his resignation to the board of county commissioners on Sept. 23, 2022, according to the Democrat. For personal reasons I am no longer able to continue in the position.
The sheriff of the county asked if it was him in the photo. Young said that Moore didn't deny that he was in the picture when he was questioned.
He didn't deny at all. I showed him the pictures and he didn't Refuted anything. I told him that he needed to quit.
A representative from the governor's office told the outlet that the team was in the middle of preparing for a storm.
Taryn Fenske said that Jeff submitted his resignation last week.
