3 balks in 1 at-bat! Mattingly ejected after Bleier's blunders (1:01)

The pitcher gave up three at-bats to score Jeff McNeil from first. There is a time and a place for this.

It was the first time in over a century that a major league pitcher had three balks in the same at-bats.

After retiring his first two batters in relief, Bleier allowed Jeff McNeil to reach on an infield single, but he was able to get the next two hitters out. With Pete Alonso at the plate, Bleier was called for a balk three times.

The seven-year veteran hadn't been called for a balk in his first 300 big league appearances when he was called for one in the sixth. I'm not sure. It was really crazy.

Each call made Bleier angry. Don Mattingly was thrown out of the game after arguing with the entire umpiring crew.

Mattingly said he knows he's gone the minute he leaves the bench. It's crazy. There is something new every day in this game.

After retiring Alonso on a groundout, Bleier argued with Blakney. LewinDiaz tried to get Bleier to the bench, but he continued to argue and was ejected.

The Marlins won by a score of 6-3.

It's the same move I've been doing for 300 years. Maybe I wasn't feeling well. I was able to watch the video. I'm biased so I don't know.

Only six other pitchers in major league history have done that. It was the first time since 1988 that it had been done by a player.
