A hack resulted in a push notification containing racist and obscene language.

There was a push alert about the message. Fast Company added thatThrax was here. It was not clear who was sent the alert or how many Apple users it was sent to.

A claim from the hackers about how they were able to access the site's publishing tools appeared on Fast Company's website. Fast Company took its website offline as a precautionary measure after the messages were deleted from the page.

The company said that their Apple News account was hacked. There were two obscene and racist push notifications. The messages are offensive and not in line with Fast Company's ethos. We have suspended the feed and shut down the website while we investigate the situation.

The Fast Company said that their content management system was hacked on Tuesday evening.

Apple referred to an Apple News post that said it had disabled Fast Company's channel.
