Cardinals Clinch NL Central Title with 6-2 Win vs. Brewers

For the fourth year in a row, the St. LouisCardinals are in the playoffs.

They secured a spot in the playoffs with Tuesday's win over the Milwaukee Brewers. They won the division title for the first time in a long time.

The Brewers led the NL Central at the beginning of the year, but the team used a second half surge to overtake them. In August, St. Louis had a winning record.

Paul Goldschmidt was the star of the team's season. He is batting.317 with 35 home runs and 112 runs scored.

The All-Star first baseman will be one of the most dangerous hitters in the playoffs.

Another strong season has been put together by Nolan Arenado. One of the most consistent players in St. Louis is the third baseman.

The final ride for Albert Pujols, who is set to retire at the end of the season, has been one of the most exciting parts of the year.

He is fourth on the all-time list with 700 career homers.

The pitching staff has been solid, ranking ninth in MLB with a teamERA of 3.86.

The path to the World Series will not be easy in the National League, with other teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves standing in the way. After losing in the NL Wild Card Round in the past two seasons, St. Louis should be more motivated.

The team is well-equipped to make a run this year and it will be fun to watch them as they try to win a ring for Pujols.
